Octavius was getting antsy once again. Being down in the dark, cramped spaces below ground was really not his thing anymore. Sure it was okay when he was a tiny pup…but now that he’d grown to be a rather large adolescent, it was getting annoying. He needed to get out, go to the surface and do something. Even if it was just to run around in circles, it would still be sunshine and fresh air, something he couldn’t get below ground.
Standing from his seated position in the common area, he trotted in lupus form towards the closest entrance, the one near his mother’s den. After making his way out of the darkness, the boy stretched and yawned widely, shaking his shaggy white fur out. The sunlight hit his body and he groaned softly, soaking up all of the warmth it had to offer. Summer was coming fast, snow was melting and the cold nights were getting shorter and less cold. Octavius could not wait until there was no longer any snow at all on the ground.
The young one’s stomach made an unpleasant noise, making itself and its hungry status known to anyone within hearing distance. Huffing, he trotted for a little while, pushing his way into the woods before tossing his head back and letting out a short call. Hopefully a family member would show up instead of someone unrelated. He didn’t feel like introducing himself to someone unknown at the moment.
Standing still after calling, Octa closed his eyes and focused on the way his body was shaped, willing himself to shift. Within a few minutes he had gained a few inches in height and length, and about eighty pounds of muscle. Stretching out, he flopped onto the ground in his newly donned secui skin, waiting for whoever it was that would come running to his call.
