The sun felt so good that the warmth had Octavius almost asleep after only a few minutes. He lay there, stretching and yawning occasionally, comfortable and feeling safe within pack lands. No one would hurt him here, and if they tried and succeeded, he could always find his mother and tattle on them. While Naniko wasn’t a very affectionate mother, she was protective and did not like anyone messing with her children. He knew that there would be hell to pay for anyone who attempted to hurt him, his brothers, or any of his older siblings.
Thinking about his siblings, he was sent back to the meeting and the mean little bite that Severus had administered to his ear. Octavius had woken with a yelp and jumped up, slamming into his dark brother on accident and causing a small ruckus in the room. Embarrassed and annoyed, the boy had curled back up in a smaller ball and hid behind Severus and Naniko, unhappy with his stupid brother. All of that upset had faded by now, though the little boo-boo from where he was bit was still pink. He knew that holding a grudge against his grey brother was pointless.
Not moments after he’d been thinking of him, Severus came walking through the brush and stumbled over his body. Octavius barked out a loud laugh and rolled over onto his other side, bright red eyes watching the darker male catch himself and lay down in the sun as well. A small smile pulled his upper lip up, and he belly crawled closer until he was able to rest his head on the other male’s back. Taking a deep breath, he yawned once again and nuzzled his brother a few times, happy to be with a family member. Been trying to help with the gardens a little bit…how ‘bout you?
