Wayne wanted nothing but the best for Casa di Cavalieri. It was almost like the herd; he would be glad to have a dozen more horses, but only if their temperaments were fine. He did not make his suggestion to Tamhas lightly, even if it was completely out of the blue, and he hoped he wasn’t making a mistake. Despite his protective nature over it, the pack was not his, and he was more than okay with that. After trusting him with so much else, the alphas wouldn’t think he was overstepping boundaries by recruiting the first sorry sight he came across at the borders, right?
His shoulder ached when he shifted, reminding him that it was about time to start exercising it again. Reaching up with his other hand to rub the injury, he grinned at the other’s remark.
“Not too much,” the cowboy agreed, and grew serious again. “Well, I told you already what Casa’s all about—fightin’ for peace, lendin’ services to the other packs, the weak and the defenseless. As such, we expect everyone here to have some sort of fightin’ skill—not right away, of course,” he said, thinking of himself, “but through training in order to advance in the ranks.” He knew his arm would speak for itself about the necessity of this. “Do you have any skills? Fighting or any other, really. Ain’t have to be too grand, just proof you can earn yer keep.” He chuckled lightly.
