Splashing through the sand-bar...
OOC:// For Sirius, with apologies for being late, hope this being set today wont affect your timeline too much? It works out easier for me this way, but I don't mind if you had this planned for being set on another day. Also word count: 1047 words.

The sun was rising in the East, the fat orb slowly inching it's way up and over the horizon, having not yet been able to escape up into the sky fully. The warm morning light glinted off of the few small fluffy clouds that were meandering across the sky, being directed this way and that by the cool zephyrs that were blowing around the lands. The sand on the expanse of beach was cool, now shining in the dawn sunlight as the solar rays reached it and began to warm the chilled grains. The breeze coming in off of the salty sea tasted of brine and pushed the small waves towards the beach rapidly, the tide was going out, but still the cold water lapped at the beach, stretching a fair way inland with each wave, splashing white foam against the pale sand, the waves out to sea seemed more rough, rolling rather roughly, small white flecks of sea foam being obvious on the horizon, suggesting that most waves were creating a fair spray as they came from the deeper ocean into the shallower waters near the land. Small pebbles were being washed up with each wave, all perfectly smooth, having all their sharp edges eroded by the constant battering of the sea water upon them. A small grey stone rolled further than its fellow pebbles, rolling further inland than the others, being more affected by the push of the sea than any of the others it seemed. It was this pebble that was suddenly clasped by a dark hand.
Soran straightened up slowly, the small pebble clutched in her hands, slowly she rubbed a thumb across it, before raising her arm and throwing the round grey stone back towards the sea, it landed with a gentle splash just behind the line of the breaking waves, a lucky shot the ebony fae mused. This action displaced the soft blanket that had been wrapped around the jade eyed lady's shoulders; slowly she pulled the heavy red felt back around her dark arms, snuggling into the warmth. Now clutching the front of her blanket she bent down once again, reaching into the pile of sun bleached driftwood by her feet, much like the gnarled tree trunk that she was sat upon, its roots and branches mostly snapped off, the wood bleached white by the sun and the sea salt, the bark totally removed, she tossed the smaller piece of driftwood into the fire that was crackling wildly before her. As the salty wood entered the fire the blaze hissed fiercely, turning green and blue and sparking, the flames changing colour due to the salt in the wood, for the most part the blaze was mostly green and blue, a bizarre and intriguing effect to the dark fae.
For a moment, the dark lady stared into the blaze, musing over how many times like this she had sat before a fire, how she had made friends, enemies around them, how she had been deceived by others while staring into them, how she had met Hollow in front of a fire much like this one, only the green flames had burnt a hot orange. The fae did not like remembering how she had met Hollow, in fact had she not had Dhalia, Khaden and Conri, she would never think of the red male with his evil eyes. It was because of Dhalia that she was here right now, the fae had been unable to sleep since her meeting with her only daughter, she was still shaken, even through the knowledge that she had all of her children living in these lands once again, that all of them were alive and well, it was a shock, not an unpleasant one, but it had been most unexpected, it was a shock all the same. And so, once she had returned from those cold forests with their oppressive chill and darkness, the fae had returned to the beach, stopping only in the house briefly to tug the heavy felt blanket from the base of her bed. Since that late return Soran had sat here, starting a fire quickly and keeping it burning to keep her awake, and warm. Her girl had looked so like her father; she even saw the same glimmer of madness in her eyes as had been in his, she was sure she had caught it, just for a moment. She didn't know what to do, she was sure her babes hated her, even if they didn't openly show it, like Conri, she doubted that she had been fully forgiven for abandoning them all in their times of need, when they were so small or with Conri, when he was sick, having lost a leg and was intending on starting his own family.
Soran longed for Deuce at this moment, the feeling of loneliness had finally caught up with the jade eyed lady and it was more poignant that ever, she wished she had her former lover here with her, snuggled under the blanket, the pair able to enjoy the sunrise, instead of the lone lady staring blankly at the lightening sky, far more interested in the spitting flames before her, she wished she could find the beauty in another day starting this morning, but the only beauty she could find in it that it was one day since she had seen her daughter, a fresh day for her to re-evaluate her life and plan how she would better make amends with her babes. The dark lady raised a hand to stifle a yawn and began setting out plans, plans to prove that she could be maternal, plans to prove to her children that she loved them. Still the space beside her felt empty, there was a Deuce shaped space beside her to match the one in her heart, a small sigh escaped the dark lady's lips, as she once again added a piece of firewood to the crackling blaze in front of her, smiling as the salty wood caused the fire to hiss and spit once again, she didn't flinch as one of the sparks landed upon her long forearm, instead she simply moved to pinch the spark out, rubbing the ashes between her finger and thumb as she mused.
