In the air...then on Shadow's back...then on the ground...then on top of Shadow. It all happened in what seemed like the blink of an eye. When he'd felt a pair of needle-like teeth holding his scruff, an odd and alluring chill shot down his spine. Now, Cerberus was standing above the ebony wolf and flailing to find a place to sink his teeth into, finally settling on Shadow's throat. As he jeered about how they were both white wolves now, his voice vibrated against Ceri's teeth and he chuckled, struggling to hold tight. Eventually he let go, standing over Shadow still while his thick tail batted the air around it. Maybe, he said, his voice dripping with slyness, she doesn't have to know. A wicked grin spread across his lips and he lowered his head, bathing Shadow's ears in teasing licks before hopping off and sauntering away.
He paused for only a moment, peering over his shoulder at the dark wolf in order to observe his reaction to the taunting. Then he gave his tail a haughty swoosh and chuckled. Care for a rematch? Come and get me! Lowering his body to the ground, Cerberus galloped off, tearing through the forest and away from the dark wolf. After a while, his leg screamed in protest and he found himself having to rest beneath a tree to nurse it with his velvet tongue before he could even think of running again.
