Dhiate sat out on the street with his back against the wall of the building across the street (more of a path now) as he watched Raoth come out with a few bottles. Dhiate pulled his knees to his chest and gazed at the dirt in front of his feet. With a sigh, he rested his chin against his knees. It shamed him that he had gone to such lengths to flee from the unknown. Was Amy mad at him?

Dhiate barely glanced up as Raoth plodded over and plopped to the ground next to him. Lately, though they were still far from friends, it seemed as they where something of comrades. Both accepted their fates of forever being Amy's puppets and knew that torturing the other would simply make their own lives worse. So, they had begun to fall into a certain pattern. Dhiate never talked to Raoth unless necessary, and Raoth stopped trying to attack Dhiate. Off course, Amy beating him may have been a factor in all of this. But as it was, they often found each other sitting side by side in silence.

Raoth set the bottles on ground and lay back, soaking in the sun. They made an odd pair, exact opposites in almost every way. Raoth was younger than Dhiate, but had over a foot and dozens of pounds on him. Dhiate's body was pale, slender, curvy, and unmarred by any blemish. Raoth's was dark, broad, muscular and covered in scars. Exact opposites, on opposite sides of the spectrum, but in the same boat. Raoth lay sprawled out while Dhiate curled into himself, both waiting for their mistress's call. If it ever came.
