She knew she was late in returning but the time a second set of wails joined the first. Though these bundles of life were not her own, X’yrin was behind elated for what transpired within Kiara’s home. It was the coming of precious life, the continuation of a line composed out of Nature’s necessity and a consummation of fondness between two hearts. Though it was unfortunate that only one would be able to experience this fulfillment and see the fruits of that joining, the woman knew that as long as she was able, she could this generation as though she had been part of its making. She would help as she could, despite her own bitterness at the absence of life on her part. What mattered only was what the ancestors sought to grace them with, and she would accept their blessing in whatever form.

Her offering was placed at the entrance of the den and carefully nudged in while doing her best to remain just out of the private scene. Though her curiosity was boundless, there was an instinctual respect that surfaced each time she drew to close. Yet it was conflicting with her role as Alpha and caretaker, she knew better than to go against the nature the Exultare praised above all else. So when the meat was shifted just at the lip of the den, she retreated a safe distance and turned her ears toward the den as she maintained a constant vigil.

The arrival of the remaining family was met with tones of caution not to disturb the miracle taking place just out of reach for their eyes to observe. Though the site reeked of blood and birth, more a ground of death than life, such scents indicated the delicate nature of what transpired. And as spectators, their role was better set to guard and ensure this birth transpired without ill-favored intrusions.
