Just testing him out
Birds sang through the air as they worked on building their nests. A rabbit dashed across the melting snow to a large patch of grass, settling in by the oak tree to nibble on the lush area. The sun shone down, and a cool breeze drifted through the air. None of this was noticed by the silver wolf traveling through the area though. His head was held low, missing the beauty around him. All he knew was that he had failed. He had failed his pack, his alpha, and the one wolf who he hadn't been able to afford to let down, Akira. He had been trusted to find food. Instead he had lead them to her death.
Stopping before a small stream Tharin ducked his head down, drinking the cold water. It was muddy, reeds growing through it, something he was thankful for. He hadn't been taking care of himself, and seeing the mess he had become at first hand wasn't exactly something he wanted to do. His thirst slacked Tharin stepped back, looking around the area. It was full of life, the perfect hunting grounds. If only Akira had lived long enough for them to return to their pack, tell the alpha the good news.
