Heart Beats On

What a nice surprise! Smile

Tharin was far too detached from his environment. It wasn't safe, but Tharin couldn't bring himself to care. If he died, it was a death he deserved, his survival instinct barely flickering, keeping him moving when he would have laid down to die otherwise. A rustling from behind earned a slight twitch of his ear, but that was it. He didn't bother to move otherwise, mud and blood coating his body from hunts that he'd taken, not bothering to clear it off. If something decided to bother him, that was just fine. He could fight, and if it brought death he would welcome it.

Tharin felt something brush next to him. Sharply Tharin twisted away, instincts overriding his own emotions of not caring. His hackles raised as he finished catching up with what his senses had already known. A beautiful young female, leaning down to drink at the water. Her pose was proud, as proud as his had been when leading the hunt in his pack. She drank from the muddy water before lifting up, speaking. His ears flattened a little in confusion. Nice day? He glanced around, realizing for the first time that the rest of the world had moved on, that the mourning had stopped. Yes. It is. He was very surprised.
