Blood streamed from the wound upon his back, but he was still moving. There was no severe injury, just a bloody one, and one that would be a particular pain for him to clean on his lonesome. Zana's shout reached his ears and the dusty coyote nodded, too caught up in the motions of loading another arrow into his quiver. A slowed enemy was not as good as a dead enemy, and Ithiel wished to see this wolf pay for his transgressions. The dark coyote bit down on the reins and leaned back, twisting in the saddle. Lystra swung wide and he aimed, firing an arrow off at the other man. It skittered off his horse's flank, drawing a red line across the animal's hindquarters. The horse reared and screamed, tossing its head violently, but the rider held his seat all the same. A moment later, he had the warhorse under control once more, and came charging toward Ithiel. The big sword swung and the dusky coyote jerked the reins, leaning sharply over to avoid the strike. He nearly lost his own seat, but Lystra seemed to compensate for her off-kilter rider, leaning the opposite direction, and Ithiel caught his balance and righted himself again quickly.
