It had not been her decision to raid the foreigner pack, nor had it been her decision to exchange these captives. She was but a pawn of her leaders, moved across the board at will. She knew it, too, and it was faintly infuriating -- but she needed this damned Salsola, as much as she did not wish to admit it. Until she could depart south for her birthright, she needed them.
Carnelian eyes watched as the tawny wolf at the forefront leaned forward to pick up the puppy in her teeth, using the typical four-legged carrying technique. For her part, Tlantli did not embrace or so much as reach out as her companion crossed the line between them. She waited only until the silvery woman was clearly within their possession before she turned back to her horse, climbing atop the spotted brown mare. The rope had already been untied, and Trader was ready the reclaimed Salsolian to ride. Tlantli wheeled her horse without a word, though her red eyes watched over a shoulder as the contingent of Salsolians retreated.
