Although Pan had never managed to warm up to the Boss in a similar manner to the way his sister had, he truly adored the gift he had received from Salsola’s leader when he had become a man. Black was a vicious and spirited creature, but the stallion was a wonderfully sculpted horse, and sturdy enough to carry his ebony owner’s weight.
He smiled at her words, silent for just a moment as he brushed his dark muzzle against her pale. The blackness of his tail swayed behind his form, and the remaining free arm reached to place a great palm over the lighter hand that had grabbed his forearm. Overcast hues had quickly turned into liquid silver, and the storm had passed for now. All he had needed was someone to remind him of the reason why he had chosen such a rocky path. However much he loathed separation, it made the return sweeter. Back in Salsola, there would always be someone waiting for him. This wasn’t all for nothing.
”Evidently,” the male purred back, dark voice rumbling with his affection. She had changed—always did when he was away—and it made his gaze dart over to Nacht instead. ”Your Nacht has grown strong and beautiful,” he complimented, freeing his clutched arm from her grasp with a light tug and moved to give the young mount’s neck some friendly pats. Black pupils returned to his sibling’s face, shortly, and he gave her a crooked smile.
