It was something from her childhood, an old melody the free loving Luperci of Juniper Peace had gifted the girl when she was a child. A simply melody, it drifted easily to mingle with the warm air that greeted her. It was easy to tell that it was destined to be a good day despite whatever happened; Clover would not let it be anything else, and she was quite aware that it had been some time since she had last been confident in a day being worthwhile. She welcomed the soft breeze as it caressed the golden waves framing her face, noting the slight scent of spring in the air. Change was on its way, even if colder weather did decide to make a few more appearances before spring burst into full effect.

Her pursuer had gone unnoticed, but that was no surprise. Within the lands of thistle and thorn, the Family was safe from all threats and so the Lykoi girl did not fear any lurking predators. And of course, Sirius was a hunter and moved with the knowledge and skill of such. Had the girl perhaps been a doe or some other game hunted, there was no doubt she’d be in peril.

The words that only slightly preceded his appearance were recognizable and so Clover knew the owner before her pale yellow gaze focused on the Boss. I suppose it has, she responded, voice somewhat demure now that the melody had abruptly ceased; she had not expected to be heard.

Though it pained her to know that he was inaccessible to her, she still found comfort in his presence. The golden curtain would fall over her shoulders, hiding the stolen glances she’d take while tending to his possessions as he subsequently loomed in his own chambers. Perhaps the heartache of knowing she could never attain him would dissuade her, encourage her to find love (if that’s what it was) elsewhere, but it did not. Despite everything, Sirius had given Clover a purpose. The Family had become her own and she was expected to do her part as a member of Salsola. She had not so easily forgotten that he had rescued her from Inferni, where she had discovered she had not easily fit in amongst her blood relatives. Inferni seemed somewhat too cruel for her own tastes – perhaps something that came with the Lykoi name – and Salsola had offered the solace the girl had needed. Sirius had offered it. She’d never forget that.

Her eyes drifted over the muscular plane of his chest, in line with her eyesight, before her gaze rose to find that sharp olive green. How does this lovely morning find my King? Clover studied the dark tangles that fell about his face in such perfect harmony with his features and she longed for that crocodile smile of his, so alluring and yet somehow dark. He was a devilishly handsome man and this appealed to all of Clover's senses; already she was aware that her pulse had quickened.
