Sirius by Nat

She was a stark contrast to the land, and the people, around her. The girl was pure, beautifully fresh, untainted by the darkness that shrouded his kingdom in a veil of twisted morals and wickedness. It was his lies that had caged her here, Sirius knew - His lies that had blinded her to the truth of Salsola. Once, he had remarked on how unfitting a home Inferni had been for the delicate like of such a doe; She had taken such a thing to heart, and on their next meeting, he had been able to steal her away, a jewel-thief in the night. But Salsola, although in appearance less violent and brutal than her previous home, was no less twisted; Theirs was the evilness of a serpent, deemed cruel in the eyes of others, but true and just in their own gazes. It seemed Clover was able to overlook all of their apparent wrongdoings, their slavery, their primal and harsh laws, their canny secrecy, all for him - It was this that confused him, deep down, for while Sirius was the King Puppeteer, even he knew that his lies alone were not so potent.

The man had no understanding of her love, the adoration she felt for him. His own heart seemed incapable of producing such emotion, for it was too flat and cold, too brisk and business-like in its dealings with the world.

Regardless, his wicked mind held great store for the golden-haired princess. She was royal blood; That much was obvious from the russet streak on her nose. She was blue-blood, born from a long line of the most successful family in this region, and not only that, but she was beautiful; Entrancingly so. A perfect female specimen, for all appearances pure coyote, with long graceful limbs and a sweetly curved body, youthful but womanly. Her eyes were warm sunlight, and her steps were the graceful, smooth motions of a dancer. She was, in many ways, perfection, and while he could not love as she did love, Sirius was enamored with such a concept.

Her delicate voice, humble and respectful, reached his waiting harks like the song of a bird. Black lips curled up in a slow, dazzling smile - He knew how to use his devilish looks to the best of their advantages. "All the better for having heard such sweet music, my dear," Oozed the warm caramel of his tone, a venomous lure that had snared many fools in its tenor depths. "You'll walk with me, to my den?" His snake-like eyes watched her keenly, filled with the hunger that almost always arose at the sight of her. For so long, he had kept her pure, denied himself any access to her - She had been a pretty thing on his mantle, an object admired, but not used. However, change had been in the air lately, a change that was afflicting all of them, and subconsciously Sirius knew that it was changing him, too.

He had begun to desire new things, begun to consider new possibilities. Salsola was thriving, and would continue to do so with the blessing of Spring. For so long, he had isolated himself, unwilling to allow his attention to wander from the birth of the pack, unable to allow his attention to drift to anything other than his beloved Family. But on these changing tides, perhaps, with time slipping through his fingers, the man might begin to feel his own mortality; And suddenly, it did seem, Clover Love Lykoi had a totally different potential.
