One of this month's thread prompts involves helping someone get less gross from shedding, and I totally could see Siv and Isabella doing that, if you want. :>
The winter had begun to ebb, and even in this northern land the signs of spring were around them. Siv felt in her bones, but more than this, she felt it on her skin. Under her snow-brushed pelt the thick double-layer of fur had begun to loosen, and with it chunks of the stuff were scratched off with each passing day. She had gone through the mess before, and used a comb fashioned by bone. Unfortunately, this had broken upon catching in a rather nasty knot, which had forced Siv to hack a section of her mane short. This was, at least, hardly noticeable.
While other animals could have served her purpose, one in particular was her goal. She had decided to go to the weir in order to catch her intended eel, but today had been an unsuccessful attempt. After growing tired of waiting, Siv had ridden westward and taken the long trail towards the ruins. Diverting towards the beach had been a decision made with little true purpose, though she soon realized she had an urge for seafood. Catching the crabs that were captured at low-tide would be easy, though she hoped to discuss some sort of larger trap with Liliya soon.
She spotted the doggish woman long before she reached her. Hildr snorted loudly, trudging through the compact sand. It was only the cry, in some unfamiliar tongue, which finally caught the Family member’s true attention. Siv urged her horse into a trot and soon closed the distance between them. “Are you alright?” She called.
