[j] You Should Have Known The Price Of Evil

(382) This table made awesome by Mel!

The shadow-furred canine moved across the marshes quickly, mindful of the howl that summoned her to the borders. As always, she was eager to meet the caller: she thought she recognized this voice, too, but hadn't the familiarity to say so. Those who came to her pack's borders knew their business perfectly well, in the majority of cases: it seemed their corner of the Bay was still hidden away from much of the world. How much of this was due to locale and how much was due to reputation, Eris could not say -- either way, it pleased her.

As she neared beginnings of the treeline, she spied a figure moving through the trees, and paused to investigate. Fur of a deep, flat brown flashed even in the shadows, and the silvery patches soon became apparent to Eris. She watched Draugr move slowly around, her gaze glued to the marshes. When distant Bambino bent, the dark hybrid squinted and saw she brought some kind of plant up from the earth, placing it carefully in a dingy green bucket. Eris knew little of gardening techniques, but it pleased her to see the child working toward something, however odd it was to garden by the light of the moon. The youth had professed unpreparedness to be the reason for her delay in ascending to the adult ranks, but Eris was losing patience with this excuse. Surely one so studious and gregarious as to be present at a whale oil extracting and one who tended the garden possessed enough skill to take an adult's position?

The hybrid spared no more time with this and instead headed on, unaware of the pale purple eyes that followed her. She slipped through the thin line of trees and onward into the thicker forest, her head held high as she approached the edge of the Salsolian claim. Her brilliant green-yellow eyes scanned the borders for the relative stranger she knew awaited her. A grin spread across her dark muzzle as she perceived Reykr, and the dark-furred coyote's pace slowed as she approached him, peering curiously toward the man and his beast of choice. You've come, she said, a fierce grin barely concealed on her dark muzzle. But have you come to stay?
