How safe could he feel this far from her? He glanced down and admired her body from a new vantage point while she drew her weapons but had barely enough trust in the crafty woman to hold his ground as she brought them up. His eyes shifted cautiously from blade to woman before he slowly reached out and took them.
He had expected nothing from her. The gift was a surprise and he analyzed the blades in his hands carefully. They were heavier then the one he used to have but balanced nicely. He opened his cut palm so he could see the hilt. It was no surprise that they were worn from use but each handle was in as fine condition as their perfectly sharpened blades. He glanced down at her legs where the sheaths were still strapped snugly. They wouldn’t fight his larger body and he had no desire to draw blades from his legs anyway. The smooth fine shape of her waist made him smile before he turned his back to her. He wanted to give her no chance to changer her mind. As much as he liked the feel of weapons in his hands again he wanted the assurance that they would meet again.
It took him a few steps to get back to the tree he had chosen to train in. He bent down and scooped up his metal gauntlets before looking back to the dangerous woman, I look forward to seeing you again, Amy. He gave her a sharp grin and turned to leave, gauntlets under arm and daggers wresting safely in the scoop of their underside.
