Lillith Alexandria

Trombetta Behr

Word Count → 213 :: Out of Character text

Lillith took a step back and watched as Linquilea came over to gnaw at her kill. Her eyes were wide and glazed over, the words that the dark wolfess spoke sounded as if they were underwater. It seemed the whole world was in a haze and Lillith could not keep from staring at the broken body of the fox. She could have sworn she saw the shadow soul of the vixen fly from the body into the tree tops, perhaps to become one of the ravens that followed her.

Lillith then realized her name had been said, and a question had been asked of her, and that she had been holding her breath, which came crashing out in a large whoosh as she looked up to the sable female. How did she feel? I feel… She paused, her mind working to catch the flitting emotions within her chest and identify them, I feel… Alive. She said. It was the best description she could come up with. She did not feel remorse for the murder, nor excitement, nor elation; what she felt was the sense of being alive, that she remained in the light realm while the fox entered the shadow realm. It was an interesting sensation, and one that Lillith very much enjoyed.
