Love is a heart shaped necklace

His blood was rushing through his ears with every rapid beat of his heart. Adrenalin raced through him with no place to go, no outlet to flow into. Action was out of the question with her so close, he could feel every tremor that shook her smaller feminine body and resisted the urge to press his nose into her hair and inhale her sweet scent. She was so small, he still marveled at her size as though it was something new to belong, he had seen smaller people too but it was somehow special upon her. And yet despite her slight body she was strong, a survivor.

The silence that stretched after her question was unusual and made cause for him to frown ever so slightly, browns forming a shallow V shape. He wondered about her constantly, what was playing in her complicated, damaged mind. He took a deeper breath, his chest pressing against her beck and released it slowly, his breath sending a few auburn curls scattering from their resting points. Then came her news, her bombshell of what she wanted to share and for a moment he was speechless too, lost for the words to describe just how his soul roared at that moment.

He blinked once and then again. His lashes fluttering and he could have sworn that for a moment or two his heart ceased its rapid convulsions and refused to beat at all. The world hung suspended around him in that one moment. Then it was destroyed by the emotions that slammed into him like a freight train. Complicated and twisting and turning they crawled up his mental body like hanging vines, smothering him and closing in tighter than the chains that had existed before, rendering them obsolete. Lorenzo shifted back and pulled her around gently so that she was facing him, so that she could see the echo of her love staring back at her from his eyes, male and strong. The amethyst and emerald shined with a gem-like glitter to them. The grin that stretched across felt like it would tear itself from his face, it was so large. A single gesture was all it was, but it would speak enough for itself. He leaned forwards and touched his nose to her own.
