Unfortunately her words set the pup thinking. That wasn't what she wanted him to do. Amy wanted him to be too excited to think over what it was she was saying and agree to it. Instead, the concept of trading for something other than objects had him considering the true value of what he could trade. It looked like this pup was rather smart. A bit unfortunate on her end. When it came to pumping information Amy preferred her informants to be dumb as a rock, unaware of what she was doing and answering all her questions without wondering why.
