The petite creature could hear the scarce sound of the change in the water's current, hark tipping lightly towards the whispering hiss of water against earth. Her hark twitched lightly once more once she recognized footsteps of someone inching ever closer, and the dame hugged her knees closer, as if trying to shrink her already small size, save for if this stranger was a higher-ranking member of the Salsola family. Those milky, jade sights turned a little towards the passive 'wuff', recognizing it as a form of addressing her. Her eyes could only make out the tawny outlines, blurs and smudges, and only dimly, so she had failed to notice the golden ring.
The dame continued to remain small in her spot, those ivory-dipped ears falling aft as her hands lightly combed through her waist-long, layered tresses. It was almost as though she was trying to hide herself behind the curtain of hair. And after a moment more, she wiped a bit at the tears still threatening to well up in her mossy eyes.
H-hello, she squeaked out meekly, feeling a bit flustered and embarrassed for being caught, feeling all poorly for herself. And here the dame had thought she was secluded, here Wander thought she was safe and quiet. The doe didn't mind the male's presence, not in the least. She wasn't one to force others away. Yet, it still made her feel foolish for being caught in a moment of sorrow.
The doe knuckled one of her eyes once more, giving a slight sniffle as she looked to the stranger. This dumbstruck feeling... It was odd. Usually, Wander was quick to strike up a conversation, and finding herself tongue-tied, she felt further embarrassed, her slender muzzle and gaze turning downwards as she muttered a soft apology.
