As the white and black painted beast in front of him pulled the cart forward Jazper could tell he was starting to get grumpy again. They had left Casa di Cavalieri two days ago, traveling at a brisk walk for most of the journey and would arrive very shortly at New Dawn’s boarders. Although he wished to deliver a gift to Zalen and New Dawn the trip was also a good way for the Sole to test Vito’s will to pull a cart. He had never been asked to perform such a task so the first few hours the Knight had to stop every now and then and remind the horse that the wooden planks he was attached to was not food and to reward his better behavior with an apple. However in the past couple of hours the horse seemed to be getting distracted more regularly, a sign that he was bored of pulling the cart and Jazper along.
With luck the scent of the primitive pack wafted into the coal warrior’s nose, signaling that it was as good a time as ever to relieve the stallion of some weight. Jumping off the cart he moved to pull the horse from his reins, leading him up to the boarders. Once they were a couple meters away the leader raised his head, releasing a call to Zalen and whoever would come. While he waited he untied Vito from the cart, allowing the beast to wander and munch on the grass, more than pleased to be free of the weight. From the cart he lifted a medium sized basket that was filled with deer and rabbit pelts he had personally skinned and had saved up for this very moment. He would leave his fresh kill of two very pretty male turkeys in the cart until a member or leader appeared.
