One Step At A Time

The dark Alpha had been near the den, reading his poetry book. He did not often do this in the public eye, for he knew that reading was a foreign concept to some of his members, as it had once been to him. But at this time, Zalen needed the comfort that the prose brought him. He could get lost in the words of dead humans, they wrote so eloquently. Had it not been for Soran teaching him this skill, he would not be the same wolf he was to day.

But then, a call broke through his reverie and the ebon male lifted his head; someone was requesting his presence, someone he knew. Zalen closed the book and placed it back in the hovel in the den. Titania was not there, unsurprisingly, she was still pretty pissed off at him. With a sigh, the sable Alpha exited the den. Zalen came slowly, for he recognized the voice, and he wanted whatever others were interested to arrive before he. He had remembered that the giant of a knight would come some day, as he had promised he would. And now, with Ichika no longer, Zalen was more eager to extend hospitalities to other, gentler packs.

Zalen was upon fours again, though in Optime, and he arrived on the scene shortly, and was surprised at what he saw. Adonia was already there, he hadn't seen much of her lately but had taken note that she had adopted a bird; a silly idea, but he would not put her down for it. But what really surprised him was Noah, the gray wolf that had been so cold to the others now nearly pranced before Jazper like a pup. Zalen quickened his pace and as he got closer, shifted from the four legged gait to stand erect on two.

This did not much much of a difference, the leader of Casa di Cavalier stood heads above him and the Alpha had to crane his neck to look into his eyes, "Well met Jazper!" he said jovially, extending his arm in greeting, "Welcome to New Dawn."
