Her muzzle twitched lightly with badly concealed annoyance, hidden away by the shadowy ambiance. Lilin was visibly stung and perplexed by his refutative inquiry. Thankfully though, for both of them, their emotions were permitted to seep through in the obscurity Saul's hut had to offer. "I didn't run." she countered poorly, her tone of voice raising just above her usual murmurs in order to defiantly prove her point. She had needed time to think, away from potential distractions, but running had not once crossed her mind. The conversation moved on before either of them could dwell on the subject and that was a relief in itself. She, however, wasn't too sure if this new direction they were heading in was any better.
Saul was far from daft; he knew what she had meant but denial plagued his mind. She'd had time to think things through, to assess right and wrong; advantages and disadvantages. He hadn't, or he simply didn't want to. Debating a point that she agreed with, showing better judgement when her heart pleaded ortherwise was a horrible feeling. "Would you be as lenient if Niernan was courting your sister? What about when Teme comes of age and he starts asking questions?" she retaliated then, easily selecting two examples out of so many scenarios. Surely he understood. It was her turn to wince when the second part of his answer finally sank in; realization hitting her like a ton of bricks.
"What feels right? Lust?" she quipped then, one of her main fears resurfacing unintentionally. Was she the cure to his loneliness? They resided in a testosterone filled campground; she was the only distraction. In different circumstances, would he have approached her all the same? No matter how obstinate she might have been at that very moment, Lilin did nothing to stop his tongue from washing over her right ear. She did not push him away, for she feared it would be the last time he would touch her after this conversation.
