He could not go to the meeting, not after his mother had spoken to him days prior. He knew that Anu would call them and tell them what he already knew. The Dreamers were falling apart with Savina leaving. His strong mother, such a major backbone, was leaving back for Italy. It was a place he had never been and knew he would only ever visit if the need arose. Gotham had gone there and now called back their mother. Mati and Cambria went too, so did Parker. Who was left? Artemis was still with them, but he wasn't so sure she wouldn't leave too. At least Giselle was still with him and he had her. But he could not go to the meeting; he had not even told his mate of what was going to happen. She was going to be blindsided and he could not believe it himself. This was his home, this was where he was born. And now it was over.
After the meeting, Silvano went to find his mate, as she had not yet returned. He figured she would take it hard, and he could hardly blame her. Giselle was no where to be found. Perhaps she had run for the borders, or into the woods, to sit in solace. But he needed her too and knew she would need him too. He had been fairly absent since his mother told him of Gotham's request and how she was leaving. Giselle was still here, he had to be here too. Her scent to the meeting was faint and the leaving scent was easier to detect. He followed it, so far it went. She had run, it was obvious. He could almost detect the sadness. Or was it just his imagination running with him?
He followed her, wishing she had run to him instead of away. Silvano heard her before he saw her, and smelled her light scent before he heard her, even. He slowed his gait and slinked around trees, sides devoid of weapons. She sat on the ground, hunched, and he could smell the salty tears. Without a word of warning or greeting, he sat down beside her and pulled her into his arms. He was still a Knight and he would still protect her.
