The obsidian man wasn’t left to think on it long. While he stood atop the building, he caught the scent of other canines. A coyote, a wolf, and a horse had all left their mark on the air that wafted into his nose. The voices then came too. They were made to be murmurs first because of the distance but slowly grew more audible. The clopping of horses hooves also reassured him that the group he smelled had one. He crouched low onto the gravel and listened as they came to a halt at the buildings front. He was currently on the buildings left side so they shouldn’t have seen him. And they were down wind too, so he figured they probably didn’t smell him either.
He took a single cautious step forward only to be reminded that he stood on a bed of little rocks. The strangers could have been anything, from Inferni travelers to Salsolans who might recognize him, or even trouble makers who lived in the ruins of this town. A lot of towns had their type, the ones who robbed travelers for their goods and sold them. He was no strangers to this sort of attack so he needed to approach quietly. The heavy body found his belly and inched forward in a crawl. It wasn’t absolutely silent, but made a grand amount less noise then his steps did.
When the edge was reached, a black muzzle and blue eye stuck over it ever so slowly. He peered down on an unlikely pair. An oddly decorated female coyote caressed a much taller male wolf that looked to share his blood origin. A distasteful choice he has made for a mate. The thought was natural. Not that the coyote wasn’t easy on the eyes, but that she had coyote blood and stature made her MUCH less desirable. The two of them looked dangerous too. Had he not been in his elevated position, he might have left them to their business. As things were, he poked his head and dark blue eyes over the buildings edge with shoulder length hear hanging lazily from him and spoke, Good day strangers. Fine day for scavenging, isn't it?
