Branches were the perfect place to work, up high where not many would think to look, and where one could look out to see if anyone was coming near. Octavius stretched out and yawned, his fingers working quickly to tie knots in the fabric that was pooled on his lap. He’d been doing this same thing for the past two days, knotting the different strips of material together in a long rectangular shape. In the end it would create a scarf, about five feet long, that had pieces of red, green, blue and purple cloth weaved in.
The young man’s head whipped up when he heard a soft howl coming from the borders, ears pricking forward to read the sounds. Male, he was calling for someone, not asking to gain entry. Frowning, Octa jumped down from the branch and wrapped the unfinished scarf around his neck and shoulders, loping towards the sound.
Amy’s scent hit him hard and the boy came to a slow stop, glancing around and trying to find the woman. He’d only had bad experiences around her, so he was a bit nervous and wary about being anywhere near the woman while alone. Clearing his throat, he glanced around one more time; eyes narrowed, finally he spotted her perched on a boulder. Amy? Who was that…is everything alright? His head tilted to the side as he drew closer, until his fur brushed up against the large rock she was sitting on. Despite being nervous and untrusting of her, he saw no reason to be openly hostile when they were on relatively neutral territory. She wasn’t threatening at the moment, so he wouldn’t be either.
