As Amy reached down and messed with the lengths of fabric, Octavius stretched his body out and climbed up onto the rock with ease. Wiggling around, he sat down next to the woman, smiling happily and watching her hands move. He was already taller than she was, but was still thin and lanky, filling out slowly as he grew older. Leaning over slightly, he looked over her shoulder and reached in to tug on one of the thick strands, straightening it as she had done. Already, with only a few adjustments, the thing was looking better.
Head tilted to the side, he nodded slowly as she spoke, taking in her words and storing them in his brain for a later date. Thank you! It’s my first time making one…found the fabric at a place with all these little house buildings filled with odd things. It was really fun! Grinning, the boy snatched the scarf back and began tying more knots, making them neater and tighter, like Amy had done. About five minutes later he determined it to be done and tied the edges into tight little circles. If both ends were brought together, the little balls of fabric and circles would act like buttons.
He sat there looking at the piece for a while before lifting it up slowly and draping it around Amy’s shoulders, smiling a bit as the colors stood out so strikingly against her light cream colored fur. That’s really pretty on you. Keep it, kay?
