Dixie was making a trip out to the stream to fill up a few of her and Wayne’s canteens, wanting them to be full just in case anything happened. As she walked out of the Court House and down a slightly worn path, the sound of labored breathing and soft whines fell to her ears. Frowning deeply, the small woman peeked around the corner of one of the smallish houses, her light green eyes growing wide when she took in the physical state of the collie named Neela. A soft growl lifted from her throat and she shook her head before taking a step forward slowly, not wanting to startle the other female.
Neela? Hon, can I come a bit closer? Without really waiting for an answer, she was walking close and stopped about a foot away, close enough to reach out and touch. Instead of doing that, she just stood there and ran her eyes over the other’s body slowly, taking in the bandage covered wounds. Anger spasmed through her tiny body, causing her hands to shake and the empty canteens to fall to the ground. Who tha hell did this to ya? I’ll skin ‘em alive an’ hand ‘em out fer the buzzards!
Clearly infuriated by the wounds littering her sweet pack mate’s body, she almost had to turn away, the urge to hit something was very strong. After a few moments she growled again and flashed her eyes up to Neela’s, glaring harshly. An’ why the hell are you out here goin’ through a damn fight routine!? It took everything the little one had to not reach out and grab Neela’s arm to drag her back into the small house. She figured doing that would cause more problems than fix anything, and instead just stood there impatiently waiting for an explanation.
