Eris at first thought they were remnants of the camp they'd sacked, perhaps some scout wolves who had been absent from the camp at the time Inferni and Salsola smashed it. As she drew nearer on horseback, however, she saw this was not the case at all: both were clearly coyotes, and clearly skinny, underfed things. Horse was, as always, utterly passive and acquiesced to the dark-furred woman's wishes immediately, her gait picking up into a quick trot.
They weren't really trespassers -- they'd only come up to the stone wall, decided it was claimed territory, and turned back. The dark-furred hybrid, however, was itching for blood, and it was blood she would have. Trotting Horse out from the copse of trees where she'd lurked, waiting to see if they trespassed or not, the pair of coyotes had gawked at her for a moment, and then turned to run. The dark-furred hybrid gave chase, and Horse was bearing down on the slower of the pair quickly.
The Auxiliary tossed back her head and issued a cry, too joyful to be one of alarm or warning -- this was the cry of the chase.
