Her catch was a skinny thing, a hybrid if Eris had ever seen one. This was apparent in her splotched coat to the dark-furred Auxiliary. She was skinny, all of her muscles and winter fat melted away by hard travel or hard times, or perhaps both. As the dark-furred coyote directed her quarry forth, however, she saw the splotching first mistaken for hybridization to be mud and dirt caked into the creature's fur. Whether fresh from the fall or old, Eris could not say.

Horse brought her toward Alessandra, and the skinny woman slunk toward the man, hiding behind him. Neither seemed particularly ready to put up more of a fight. The dark woman's ears flicked at Alessandra's question, and she considered both of the canines with a sour look upon her face. Trespassers, or near enough to it. Death to them both, the hybrid said, flicking her hand in disgust toward both creatures and turning her horse away.

Wait! Please! the male barked. I don't want to die, he babbled, ears flat against his head. He was quaking visibly, knees knocking against one another. Kill her, let me go, the coyote wailed, moving toward Eris and making to clutch for her leg. She drove Horse forward and out of his reach, hissing with rage.

Coward, she spat, turning her horse around. Try to touch me with those dirty hands again, she added, more evenly. Through this, the woman had begun whimpering, sinking to the ground with ears flat against her head. The dark woman guided her horse closer, nearly standing over the frail figure. See what he does to her, tsk, the hybrid said, pointing. Scum, ready to trade her life for his. Do you want to live, dearest? the coyote murmured, leaning down close toward the woman.
