Tobias was feeling all sorts of off in this strange land, the charcoal and tawny pirate unsure of what to think as he watched all of these strangers form into a sort of clot. Fritz seemed to be well in control, though that little Selene-character caused the captain to lack ease. Women were never something he very much admired, and with a few of these strange creatures falling into rank, he couldn't help but let his lips curl back. Not to mention that few of these strangers seemed to be sea-faring type, and showed the decency to cover themselves with clothes. This was certainly a different culture indeed, but if they were to follow under his rule, clothes would certainly be a necessity.
The captain withheld his approach, suspicious and glowering as his coal eyes looked over the group with uncertainty, sights narrowed so thin, the bloodshot whites of his eyes were nearly invisible. At least the crazed woman had snakes, which could deal with rats. But still, he hardly felt as though she would hold the intelligence. Being a woman and all, of course. The chauvinist's chest puffed a bit as he sucked in air, his posture stiff and alert. He was far too preoccupied, far too suspicious to turn his gaze toward the waters, despite the longing in his heart to do so.
Tobias awkwardly shuffled ever closer to Percival, craving to be near the only one he truly trusted, and he gave an irritated snort, pausing and tearing his stalwart gaze from the gathering group to the jackal hybrid, clearly emanating his level of paranoia to the other male, though his gaze was softened and appraised the smaller man.
Percival, what be yer opin'n of these... Scall'wags? he asked softly, attempting to keep his rumbling tone low and out of earshot of the others. Everything had happened so quickly, and he was unsteady like a newborn foal. Sights glanced back to the group, though visage remained turned towards Percival, hark still pulled back. The mention of the word 'love' had him cringing, lips curling a little and black tongue trailing over his teeth quickly before he released a huff. Fritz had better keep that girl in line if she were to stay. Love or not, women were unlucky, and treacherous; certainly not a creature one would want to keep on board a ship.
As more people approached, the captain kept the jackal hybrid close, remaining from voicing himself just yet. He'd watch these scrambling, awkward folk for a moment more, assessing their behavior and suitability for his crew. Glare hovered over the Selene and the curly-haired maiden for the longest, as if daring them to make a mistake, daring them to push his waning patience. After all, they were only as strong as their weakest link.
