ooc: This would take place after the group thread, so in the meantime details shall be vague.

Finally, the pups had managed to fall asleep to the result of many assurances from the female that all would be well. These lands were strange and new to them, and new to her as well. She could understand their reluctance to sleep without her near, for even she had trouble closing her eyes in a place so unfamiliar but grown less strange. They were safe, she assured the young pair countless times. They were too old to cling like this, acting afraid of what they need not fear. But with her soft heart, she coddled them still until they were assured by her love and her words that the shadow of the mountain was not to be feared but to be embraced as the protective veil of home.

This was their home now, a new land led to by the ancestors with the potential of a grand future laid out before them. How could any fear such a place when joined by a family held dear? She imagined these fears held by the children were for the unknown they had yet to accept, and would eventually dissipate in time. But the woman could not deny that she felt something of the same, a kind of fear for what lurked around them… a fear of what could transpire in the days to came. There was no true reason for it, for these days to come would be no different than those before, shrouded in the shadows of the unknown til they were lived through and fondly recounted in the light of what had been. But still it was there and it left the she-wolf restless.

Careful not to disturb the sleeping pair, she slipped out of the makeshift den and into the deep cover of night guided by a sliver of silver light across the ground yet to be made familiar. She found leisure in her towering form, taking silent steps under sizable paws as if the earth would feel different to this alternate form. But the grasses still bent the same underfoot, and the buried rocks still ground into her pads in such a way that it massaged the worn pads eliciting a soft growl of content. And while her paws experienced the ground, her eyes beheld the façade of the neighboring mountain and were again struck with awe. What was place they found… and to think this was only a part. The day had kept her busy tending to and preparing the homes for them to sleep, giving her little time to experience this beauty professed by her Family. What better time than now on this cool, peaceful night, to explore this treasure of land…
