Hotaru moved north through the pack lands with but one thought in mind, strawberries. Strawberry season had reached its peak and had put a spring in Hotaru's step. Rich, bountiful, beautiful, delicious strawberries and they would soon be hers. As a puppy, Hotaru had traveled with her mother to an old human village where farming was prevalent. The two often visited the ruins to partake in the rich bounties that had been left behind. Orchards and vineyards were some of the remnants of days gone by and Hotaru loved every bite. Strawberries and grapes were some of her favorites, although they both had very different tastes.

The blind wolf moved through the forest, her leather bag bounced against her hip while her staff swung out in front of her. Inside her shoulder bag was a specially made wooden box for the strawberries Hotaru was hoping to collect. It wasn't long before Hotaru managed to make her way to Berwick; the sweet scent of berries lured her to the old orchards. The whole was overgrown with plants, however Hotaru didn't have a lot of trouble finding the plants she desired. After nearly twenty minutes, the grey female had filled her box with the luscious fruit and held several ripe strawberries in her free paw.

Fawkes was once again absent for Hotaru's outdoor excursion. Her white falcon chick was getting close to hatching and Fawkes was on egg sitting duty. The red-tailed hawk had been thoroughly upset that Hotaru had left without him, although she had promised to bring back a few strawberries for him. The grey wolf thought about her chick, and what name she should give to it when it hatched. As Hotaru thought, she wandered ideally through the village and slowly ate the strawberries in her hand. All the while, she skirted d'Arte's boarders and hummed a simple tune to herself.
