bracing for impact

One of these days I’m gonna get my butt in gear and have a layout of Maggie’s house… one day. XD

The ride was exhilarating for exactly half of the wolves on Jasper’s back… Maggie loved the feeling of the wind whipping her Mohawk this way and that and the chills she got from listening to her beloved horse’s hooves. She could feel her mate’s grip on her body tighten occasionally as the white horse jumped over various fallen trees and rocks. That was the part she loved the best; the ball in her stomach that formed every time Jasper’s feet weren’t surefooted and there was a chance she could fall. Maggie knew this wasn’t the best attitude when she had however many growing lives in her belly… if Jasper were to slip on a rock, she could lose them all in one simple tumble. But luckily the horse made it to the city safely, and when her mate jumped off the animal like he had seen a ghost she giggled at him, sighing happily.

Her dismount wasn’t quite as quick, for she chose to slide off his back gracefully onto the ground. The dainty lady took in her surroundings, unsure of how to answer her mate. They hadn’t compiled a list of any sort, and as this was her first time Maggie had no idea what young children would need. Fabric was a definite.. for their warmth, and carrying them on her back, she supposed. “No idea,” she said after a while. “They’ll need blankets, and we’ll need to build them a large bed for all of them to fit in…” While she wasn’t entirely sure how many babies were growing in her belly, it definitely wasn’t a small amount. There were times when the silver Confidant felt at least three unwieldy puppies kicking, almost out of impatience. She took off in the direction of the road, grabbing Jasper’s reins with one hand and rubbing her ever growing stomach with her other.
