bracing for impact

The poodle-wolf was acting rather peculiar and the very pregnant Maggie couldn’t help but giggle. He looked ridiculous, entering that store and then immediately running out, sneezing like his soul was trying to leave his body. The girl kept giggling as she walked towards him, helping him dust off the particles from his fur and clothing. She finally stopped laughing long enough to agree with her mate. “A cradle is a good idea,” she mused, wondering what sort of contraption they could fashion to keep their littles ones safe.

Maggie dutifully pranced inside the house, more excited the more she stepped. Lucky for her the dust was not a problem, and she crept through the building. There was no cradle, this house had been looted quite a long time ago and most of its contents were gone besides the broken glass and rotten wood. A pout forming on her face, she left the building and briskly walked back to Denver. “Nothing in here, let’s try the next one,” she said, disappointment in her voice. She must have seemed ridiculous, they didn’t even really know what they were looking for!
