He spent the minutes recovering. It had been a while since he'd had such an intense allergy attack, and his sinuses were not forgiving. Denver hoped that the sensation in his temples was not a forming headache; he didn't want that today. As he paced outside, pale blues peered around for other prime locations. He thought he spied an old clothing store across the way, with some fabric still hung in the window. He couldn't be sure, though, and stayed put while he waited for Maggie.
She returned quickly, with empty arms. He supposed it had been too much to hope they might find something right away. Alright, he agreed, rubbing his itchy nose. I think one 'o these places down here might have some blankets 'n such, he suggested, gesturing over to the place. As they walked, though, another shop piqued Denver's interest. Hmm, this looks good, he said hopefully to Maggie, pushing through the rusty-hinged door. This one wasn't nearly as dusty as the other; a breeze rolled through it thanks to the gaping hole in it's back wall. Still, its walls still held some shelves sparsely lined with colorful toys. The floor had been a bright yellow carpet, now dull from wear and decay. Some good toys in here... Many of them had been picked through, he could tell, but there were still a good choice few. Some perfect for a girl, and others for a boy. What do you think? he asked, as he dug underneath some debris to wrench free a plastic toy car. Denver tried to roll it over the floor, but it didn't get far. Still, he thought it was a good find.
