The toy car would be fun for a boy, Denver decided, and at Maggie's approval he held onto it. She slid past him, intent on finding more goodies for their coming offspring. While his own eyes wandered around, searching the debris, his mate found something. He turned back to her hopefully, glancing at the plush thing on the floor. "Hmm," he mused, considering the thought. But all Denver could see was their children trying to fight a real bear after playing with it, so after a moment he regrettably shook his head. "I don't want them thinkin' they're all tough and goin' 'n gettin' themselves eaten up by a bear out here..." Just the thought made him look out the windows nervously. It had been a while since he'd encountered one of those creatures, but he was never happy to do so.
Nestled in beneath some other debris close to the bear, though, he saw a similarly soft doll made to look like a smiling human girl. That's better, he thought, and bent to grab it with his free hand, smacking the thing free of dirt. "At least the humans are dead," he said with a chuckle, holding it out to Magnolia for appraisal.
