Night was falling upon the lands quickly, the sunny parts of the trail darkening to match their shadow counterparts as she rode slowly along. She hadn't expected to get this far, having thought that she would hit AniWaya sometime the next morning. It seemed as if her memory had failed her when it came to distances, though; so many things had changed in the year and a half since she'd left AniWaya. There were unknown packs everywhere she turned and some familiar ones as well - she had been mystified to find that Crimson Dreams had disbanded, but had noted that Inferni was still stinking up the northern parts of the peninsula, along with Anathema.
However, as much as things changed they also stayed the same. She had been able to recognize more and more as she'd ridden closer to her old pack's lands, determined to see if the pack was still in existence. Bayard had seemed to recognize the area as well and had found quite a few of the old pathways that they'd taken in the past. Perhaps that was how they had managed to arrive in such a timely manner, luperci and horse. She halted Bayard as they neared the borders, unable to keep a smile off of her face as she looked into the lands beyond. They were still here, all right. Ember lifted her muzzle, sending out a low howl so that she might be noticed.
After a few moments, a thought came to her. She did not smell Dawali, a fact that both startled and made her wonder; what would the tribe be like without him leading it? Her smile drooped at that thought. Things were probably very different, now. Ember dismounted Bayard next, standing beside him. She made an effort to straighten herself up, pulling at her long red skirt to rid it of wrinkles and tightening her weapons-belt, which held her sword and daggers. She then attended to her brown and white stallion, beginning to brush him as the pair waited.
