The air coupled with the condensation from her thick pelt and the warmth emanating from her body heat lulled the female into a kind of doze; awake but not truly, aware of what stirred around her but far away in mind that she perceived these happenings to be part of her dreamlike state. A kind of ease had been found just long enough for the heat stricken female to calm, allowing that senseless build-up of anger to dissipate. Her wrecked mind drifted away… and for a moment she had slipped into a state of limbo where everything was and wasn’t, existing at the same moment yet was not real just the same.

And to her subtly quivering nose, the scent that drew nearer had fallen into the existing realm and stirred her from her daze. The subdued heat of the internal fire had returned to its full ferocity as gold perceived blue and instinct reigned supreme. Her lips peeled back not in aggression but in warning, conveying a delicate and severe condition that plagued the she-wolf… and the consequences that would undoubtedly follow. And it was his one and only warning. For once her terrible smile was replaced with a soft turn of her lips, such a devilish snarl could hardly have been said to have happened at all.

“Always a pleasure to see you as well,” she replied smoothly while carefully rising by her front pressed against the pile of furs. Feeling the lingering wetness still clinging to her pelt, she shook out her head and mane once more. “Although… had we shared a den, we wouldn’t only look to each other in passing,” rather uncharacteristic of the somewhat docile woman, she rounded her shoulders with a bitter play on her maw, forcing an end to the hold of gaze. “But that is only a thought of observation.” Soundly, she seated herself at the base of the pile, passively pawing at the well kept furs to fall around in a kind of nest. Only occasionally would she peek from beneath her bangs to see if her companion still stayed, standing strong upon two legs though four was what she would have rather seen. “If you wish to come further in to escape the rain, my friend… you will have to change.” Absently she waved her paw at the interior but kept her eyes on the furs. “Keeping that body would only make it crampt… less you know this, and imply that I adopt a body like yours?”
