The warm day had dragged Malakai from his den. Usually, he enjoyed his sleep, not in a lazy way, but he appreciated the importance of the rest. After all, with his leg healing, he was regaining his strength all the time and would be back up to full-speed in no time. In his lupus form, he found it easier on his wounded flank, and had wanted to do a little more exploring. The black male had been as far as the coast line, but had yet to tackle the mountains - he would leave that for when his body could handle the steep inclines and deep troughs. However, his fleeting attention had been caught by the loud, fearful bleating of a lamb. The sound was distant, but his ears pricked and his jaws broadened into a dark smirk, letting his tongue lick his muzzle. That lamb was destined to die today, he thought. Unable to resist the call of the animal, Kai trotted towards it's sound, but noticed it's desperate bleating had become muffled as if someone wanted to keep it quiet. Whenever Kai killed, he wanted to hear the beasts' distress calls, he wanted to hear it's shrieks and yells. It would let all the others know that there was a predator around.
As he found the source, he saw the young animal was accompanied by Naniko, the white Alpha, the Angela, and she was tying the lamb up. His eyes travelled over the large bones stuck into the ground, an archway, and padded closer, feeling more like an intruder than a guest. A ceremony? He smirked deeper still. A sacrifice. Even better. Malakai moved closer, his eyes remaining on the lamb for a moment, before he looked to Naniko, his head bowing in respect to her, one of the few around here he felt totally comfortable doing so to. And then, his attention drifted to the others there. Mates, he knew. Two females. Kai grinned further still and his eyes revealed the dark thoughts within that mind of his. But for now, he remained a spectator, hanging back a little in case his presence wasn't appreciated. His thoughts certainly wouldn't be, but he would keep them to himself, of course. His eyes drifted back over to Naniko, his head cocking to the side slightly, as if asking permission to come closer, if he was allowed to watch the proceedings.
