After what had happened with Io, Naniko was glad to see that Aeron was doing well. She saw the warrior-woman as a friend and comrade, and was concerned about her both socially and professionally. Sometimes issues with mates or other loved ones could interfere with the job that they were here to do, which was to lead the pack and show them how they could make a better life for one another by working together toward a common goal. If something was going on that prevented the leader from being able to deal with the day-to-day of leadership, then the entire pack would have problems. She could remember how Alaki had been when Matteo had betrayed their mateship: crazed, bloodthirsty. Aeron had better control of herself, it seemed.
Naniko waited for the pack and the couple to assemble, then cleared her throat and began to speak. "We are gathered here today to join two souls in a mateship before the Gods." This could include any gods that the canines before her believed in; she personally did not identify with a belief in any one particular god, but many that ruled the various aspects of her world. Nature, the oceans, the night sky, the sun...They were all controlled by someone, and things happened for a reason. "I sacrifice this creature to honor the work that they do for us in the mortal world, and in the hopes that they will give a blessing of fertility and good fortune to these two canines." She reached for her dagger, taking the lamb by the back of its neck and making a quick slice across its throat. The creature bleated fearfully for a moment before its cry was cut off, blood spraying out from the wound.
She dipped her thumb in this blood, releasing the lamb and her blade to stand straight once more. Jade eyes went to Aeron first, and she smeared a line of blood the other luperci's forehead. She did the same to Charm, then took two bone-charm necklaces and placed one around each of the female's necks. "It is done. I wish you well in the coming years, Aeron and Charm" She said, turning to the rest of the pack. "Now we can celebrate!" The rest of the lamb could be disposed of at a later time, after the festivities were over.
