He had outran her! For the most part until he felt a yank on his tail and he stopped almost in mid air, scrabbling to try and get away, but he gave up knowing he was bested again by the best. Then she bolted and Jiva gave chase. He pushed himself to the limit. He was made for the chase. He wasn’t the throat hunter he was the chaser, the one that brought the kill to its doom in a pack hunt. His tongue lolled out of his mouth and he barked his revenge as he chased her, only catching a little ground as she picked up the bone he had neglected to see and was off again. He raced after her, picking up the pace. She seemed to have more energy than he but he wouldn’t give up. He panted as he followed her. He pushed himself to catch up to her, but didn’t catch her. Instead he nipped towards the bone, though had no intentions of taking it from her. No matter how delicious it looked.
