Titania Moonsong
200+

She laughed airily as Jiva chased, the two coming closer to the lake with every second that passed. If not for the bright, crystalline waters that shone in the morning sun before them, then she would have known by the dampness of the ground as they drew near. Her paws sank in deeper now, leaving perfect clover imprints in the loamy earth. Glancing over her shoulder, she saw that Jiva was right behind her, and she yipped behind the bone in her mouth. He worked to race up next to her, and she began to serpentine, trying to lose his step, sometimes running into him with her zig zag.

But when he nipped at the bone all bets were off. Even though he didn’t intend to take it, it sent a hot streak of anger through the Alphess and the game suddenly became serious. Her golden eyes narrowed and she snarled. She was just about to bark at him and give him a disciplinary nip when she caught the look in his eye; he wasn’t really trying to take it from her. Her ire melted in an instant and she held her head up high, her paws skipping as she slowed and halted, now holding the bone in the air and waggling her head at him. Now this was just an unfair game of keep-away.

She turned her back to him, her tail waggling and she looked over her shoulder. ‘Just you try it’ written all over her features. She wasn’t mad anymore, now she was challenging him, and if he came for it she wouldn’t punish him for trying to take it away. She might, though, demand it back if he managed to get it from her. She pranced away from him haughtily, her swagger all play and feigned arrogance as she stepped up to the bank of the lake.
