He was take aback by her sudden outburst.

"Uhm... Aye, miss.... Sailors." Percival frowned, watching her movements now carefully, "Ye... Ye do? Oh, uhm... Miss, are ye really sure ye could be used about? Ye look young, an' the cap'n cares very lil' fer young lassies... 'specially if yer inexperienced..." He rambled. He had no idea what else to do. Percival Teach was grown and could stand nights in stormy seas, but a young lady comes to converse, and he would admit, with no shame, that he had no idea what to do.

He wanted... No, craved the certain company to get him out of this "mess".

"Miss, ah ain't be tryin' t' deny ye this privilege, but ah ain't th' cap'n. If ye really are in'trested in this, ye would 'ave better luck tryin' with somebody o' higher rankin'..." Percival said, looking around nervously. Cap'n, ah could really use ye right now...

He shrugged, "An', an'... T'ain't sailin', purely, miss... We be... uhm..." He huffed, clearly uncomfortable, and at a loss at what to say, "Pirates, miss. Nasty profession. Not fer th' weak o' heart..." Percival nodded quickly.

Giving away too much information was dangerous. But if he stated that he was a part of the less glamourous rank of pirate, perhaps the youngster would be frightened, intimidated, or at least bored, and be on her jolly way back home. The conversation was enough to leave Percival shifting in place, the lady's resemblance made the stay to chat even more difficult.
