502. FLAIL FOR ME, VALKYRIIIIEEE~~~~

Wraith advanced through the bushes, doing her best to keep quiet and stay low, and spotted her sister lingering behind the group. Val seemed completely dumbfounded by the entire experience. She still smelled really, really gross from when she’d thrown up, but Wraith didn’t think it would be very polite to mention it. Valkyrie was, after all, one of her most important family members and she didn’t want to go upset her. Wraith’s attention was wrenched away from thoughts of her sister when she heard someone scream in pain. Immediately, she felt the fur on the back of her neck stand up. She darted behind a tree and lowered herself to the ground. Her instincts would always be some sort of cross between a scout and a warrior: she had the scouting and spying skills that came naturally, but the skills of warfare had been ones her father had impressed upon her from a young age. So, her reaction was one of caution. She watched, wide-eyed, as the wolf screamed at the invading coyotes. Well, so much for caution.

With one last glance at her sister, she took off in the direction of the black wolf she’d spotted earlier. It seemed as though Emanuelle had the wolf’s attention for now. As she neared him, she realized that he was more of a mix of blacks, greys, and whites; and that he had a few scars here and there. Although she was in her secui form, he, a male wolf, was still quite large. She crept closer, hoping that he would not see her, but just when she thought she would be able to pounce from the undergrowth, he whipped his head around and stared her down. She flattened her ears, but then snarled once she realized what she was doing. She wasn’t a wimp! She would do this because this stupid wolf thing and his other wolf friends were hurting her clan and her family: and those were the two most important things.

She crept closer and the wolf refused to look away. Wraith wanted to turn her head to check to see if Val had followed her, but she knew that he would kill her if she did. She watched him as he watched her, hoping to spot some sort of limp or twitch, but he appeared to be in fine shape. This wouldn’t be easy.

Once she was only a few feet away, Wraith took a hold of her courage and moved quickly to attack. She was quick on her feet and could only hope that she was quicker than he. She darted to his left side and then moved to attack, feinted right, and then tried to grab his neck when he tried to push her away. Since she was so focused on biting his neck, she didn’t notice when he reared up a bit on his back legs and boxed at her with his paws, sending her tumbling down a small slope and into a thorny, nice-smelling plant.
