m-The wrath of women
#6
The pygmy woman had ignored the calls of the scouts behind her as one seemed to plead and beg them to turn back. After a while it seemed that she had given up on that though. Zana had been a warrior before she had become a spy to the lands of Inferni. The beast she rode upon had been her steed then as he was now. She let her ears fold back in annoyance against her skull as the paced along, picking their way carefully through the woods. She doubted they would sneak up upon the came without anyone's knowledge but the small woman could hope, even if she knew it was in vain.

The sounds of the woods were hushed, a sure sign they were coming up onto the camp, but even with the quiet nature of the forest and knowing herself where the camp was located it wasn't needed, especially after the bitch of a creature called out warning to the rest of the camp. She snarled at this, hoping that somehow they hadn't got ahead of the rest of the two packs in the attack but she didn't care now, if they had then it would be the warning they never deserved as the clan members rode them down to their deaths.

Saul stamped his hooves and reared back, the stallion issuing a war cry as the small woman kept perched upon his frame like a monkey. She snarled and let out a yipping howl as the stallion's weight slammed to the ground as he broke into a ground eating gallop through the trees right towards another of the wolves. The pygmy woman narrowed her eyes as she caught sight of the dark hued woman who raced towards her on a horse of her own. The small woman's eyes glittered as she caught simple things about the creature that spoke of her rank in this band of wolves. She might not be keen enough to know who lead, but she was smart enough to know who healed.

The tiny woman balanced on the stallion with precise accuracy, she had only been paired with the beast for the past few years and had come to know the horse's behavior just as easily as her mate's. She caught sight of the female raise one arm, an axe with the potential to cleave her clean through shimmered dully in the dappled light as they charged right upon each other. Zana let the twin blades slide from her staff with the flick of a hand as she growled deep in her throat.

When they clashed together the stallion turned, giving Zana room to move as his muscular frame slammed into the smaller frame of the mare that the wolf rode upon. She was quick to avoid the downward thrust of the axe as the stallions moves had thrown them all off except for the small woman who had rode him into battle before. She threw her small weight into the larger beast as the axe was pinned between them, knocking both of them from their mounts as she rolled free, somehow managing to keep her weapon and rolling to her feet.

While her swollen belly left her offbalanced she was still nimble on her toes and rose swiftly to face her attacker.
