Alex shuffled the cards in his hands, looking at the worn edges. He'd used this deck in so many games, knowing how to shuffle it so that the right cards were drawn to his hand and how to keep himself winning. Of course, it usually worked best when he was sober, but that never lasted very long once he started playing. Alex hadn't played cards much since coming to Anathema, finding himself busy keeping up with Alaki and other various things that he worked through.
Stepping around Alex moved back to the room he shared with the Angelo. He still couldn't believe the grumpy male had been trusted as a leader, usually teasing him about it. It made him even more busy than before, if that was possible. Pushing the wooden door open Alex looked around, wondering if he was there. Hey Alaki! You around? Perhaps the samurai would be willing to play a round with him. Alex could think of all kinds of things they could do for prizes.
