He looked over at her cockily. True, he was male, and built more for strength than she was. That didn't mean Adelle was going to let herself go down easily. Her muscles tensed, knowing that Skoll wouldn't be the only one catching the backlash from the strike. It would vibrate up her arms as well. Practice had lent her aid with holding on and not dropping the weapon when it decided to strike back against her like that. Skoll prepared, lifting the staff up to meet her clumsy power strike.

Skoll yelped, surprising Adelle. Most of the time those she sparred with were fairly silent in their actions. Surprised her grip loosened a little. The stick jarred in her hand, shaking a little. Adelle quickly tried to regain herself, tightening her grip against the rough bark. Her hands were a little scraped, nothing much as she stepped back. Adelle shifted it around in her hands, doing her best to try and readjust. Her grip was completely off now, as shocked as she had been. Adelle barely had time to raise the stick up for his stab, sending it skittering off to glance along her side. Adelle winced a little, striking back while his sword was still out against him, clumsily moving for his chest.
