Isa's words brought him back down. Guiltily he looked at her as she spoke. It looked like he hadn't done as good a job hiding his worry as he'd thought. Now Isa was trying to sooth him at a time when she was the one that needed the most protection. Her own fears were spoken out loud, intermingling with the ones that Hadley hadn't voiced. His belief of being incapable of love. Fearing hurting Isa. Fearing that he wouldn't be a good enough father, that she or the pups would be hurt because he had fallen short of what he should have been.

He stroked her back softly. You're good with Cadmeia. Good with the other girl too. He didn't know the large pup he often saw barreling through Casa off on one adventure or another. He did know that she was friends with Isa though, something that he didn't want to damage, making him even more reluctant to approach someone with enough strength to run him over without thinking too much on it, again forgetting his own strength. You'll be the best mother they could wish for.
